Nicky's Campaign 1 on 1 Character/Story Introductions/Derrick

Upon entering the country of Albeth and following the main highway for a few days you come across the first and quite large city, as well as the first you've come across in the country. With walls, large plots of farmland on the outsides of the town and quite a few houses, and a very tall tower looking to be toward the center of town inside of the aforementioned walls, though not much security seems present in the town there are guards posted on the main gate to the cityl and on a few smaller towers to keep an eye out on the surrounding farm land. There is a river running through the town from West to East.

As the group of men and women coming into the city approach the gate the guards pick out one man in particular, making a show of roughly leading the young man away from the group of people of people passing through

"You look shifty, what's your business here, and where are you from?" The guard asks the man with one hand resting close to his sheath.

Travelling in a group wasn't what he preferred, but it was what the old codger had insisted on. "It'll be cheaper than a real carriage, and much safer!" The thought of one of these peasants so much as touching the man caused his right eye to twitch horrendously. Dario recollected himself once he noticed an older woman was taking concern with the possessed eye.

Thankfully Hightower was now within eyesight. He figured maybe fifteen or twenty minutes and he could persue his business before leaving this wretched town.

As they began to pass through one of the checkpoints outside of the town, a guardsman placed his filthy, lowly hand on Dario's wrist and made an attempt at yanking him away. The incessant twitching began again, this time with enough ferocity that it threatened a seizure.

"You look shifty, what's your business and where are you from?" The brute could talk. Barely.

Dario inhaled before stating his business. "I'm returning on behalf of Lord Herrera, a noble."

"Lord Herrera? I haven't heard of any Lord by that name, where's he from and what's HE want in HighTower child?

He had tried civility, to be fair. Instinctively Dario's left hand shot forward from his hip, aiming an open palmed strike at this buffoon's nose. If he could put this dog in its place, the man might get some satisfaction before they hauled him off.

The guard recoiled with a bloodied nose and and with a red face
The other guards rushed over and roughly arrested the man who assaulted a guard without provocation, a serious though, not capital, charge.
The man known now to the guards as Dario got sentenced with volunteer work and made an enemy out of quite a few of the guards of the gate.
